MTN Ghana’s 2024 Ethical Leadership and Fraud Prevention Forum

MTN Ghana recently gathered key stakeholders in Accra for a pivotal forum focused on ethics and fraud prevention within its operational sphere, underscoring the company’s dedication to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) practices, stringent data privacy, anti-bribery measures, and ethical business conduct.

Stephen Blewett, CEO of MTN Ghana, opened the forum with a resolute commitment to integrity, emphasizing mutual responsibility and transparency as fundamental to sustainable business growth. He urged partners to actively contribute to MTN’s operational ethos, setting a collaborative tone for the event.

Linda Asamoah, Proactive Fraud Analyst at MTN Ghana, highlighted the critical role of continuous fraud identification and prevention training. She advocated for a united front in enforcing a zero-tolerance policy against bribery and corruption across MTN’s extensive network, encouraging partners to utilize MTN’s whistleblowing channels effectively.

Emelia Asiedu Attoh, Senior Manager for Ethics at MTN Ghana, reiterated the significance of trust in business sustainability. She called on participants to uphold ethical standards and support MTN in maintaining exemplary business practices, reinforcing the company’s ethical framework.

MTN Ghana’s annual forum, now in its 6th edition, serves as a cornerstone for ongoing education on ethics, anti-fraud measures, and adherence to MTN’s robust Code of Conduct. This year’s theme, “Building Trust: Integrity in Vendor Relationships and Responsible Business Practices,” drew participation from a diverse group of over 60 stakeholders.

Adwoa Wiafe, Chief Corporate Services and Sustainability Officer at MTN Ghana, introduced attendees to MTN’s comprehensive ESG initiatives. She highlighted the transformative impact of sustainable business practices and corporate social responsibility, urging participants to integrate ESG principles into their operational strategies for sustained organizational integrity.

Abdallah Ibrahim, Acting Chief Human Resources Officer, addressed essential employment standards and best practices in professional management. He emphasized creating a fair and secure workplace environment while pledging support for initiatives aimed at enhancing employee relations.

Ronald Darkwah, Privacy and Data Protection Specialist at MTN Ghana, stressed the critical importance of maintaining rigorous data privacy and protection standards. His insights underscored MTN’s proactive approach in fostering trust within its operational ecosystem.
