Google’s Android 15 QPR1 Beta 2 update is now live, rolling out across several Pixel devices, including the Pixel 6 through Pixel 9 series. The update addresses a myriad of issues, especially focused on improving Bluetooth functionality and device stability.
Among the key Bluetooth fixes, the update resolves a problem where Pixel devices would lose audio focus when pairing a second device. Issues with failed connection attempts and the Fast Pair feature for certain headsets have also been addressed. The update also makes technical improvements to LE Audio multi-codec support, enhancing audio performance across connected devices.
Besides Bluetooth, the update improves overall stability by fixing recurring bugs, such as unexpected device restarts and crashes in Google Maps. Additionally, Google has reintroduced user control over the 80% device charge limit, after reports that some users were unable to disable the feature.
Beyond bug fixes, Android enthusiasts have highlighted that QPR1 Beta 2 has paved the way for under-development features, including a potential redesign of the Android Quick Settings menu for future releases. Google has also added a screen recording chip to the UI, further refining the user experience.
While this beta marks a critical step forward, Android fans are eagerly awaiting the full Android 15 release, which could arrive in October 2024
