Instagram, a popular photo and video exchange platform, has seen an increase in the number of users as well as cyber attacks. Most of the time, cyber criminals are attacking Instagram accounts due to the unawareness of the users. In order to keep the account safe, in addition to raising awareness, the following points must be complied with.

  • Login Activity Checkup

Whether or not someone else has secretly accessed your Instagram account can be found out through Activity Checkup. You can also find out if your account was logged in from a device other than your own. To do this, first enter the Instagram app, enter the profile tab and enter the 'Settings' option from the sidebar menu. Now select ‘Login Activity’ from the Security option and tap on the ‘Instagram Login Activity’ option to see the list and location of the devices from which your account has been logged. If there is an unknown device in the list, you have to select the ‘Log out’ option by clicking on the three dot menus next to the name.

  • Use of two-factor authentication

The two-factor authentication option is very effective in keeping your Instagram account secure. For this, first you have to enter the settings of Instagram. Then click on ‘Security’ option Two-factor Authentication option

If you do not want to show posts shared on Instagram, you need to use the private mode feature. If this mode is turned on, only your followers can see your posted photos and videos. No one will get a chance to see except the followers. As a result, strangers can be protected from surveillance. To do this, first enter the Instagram settings and select the Privacy option. After turning on the toggle option next to the private account, the Instagram account will become private from the public.
