Facebook's newsfeed is now just a 'feed'
Facebook is changing the name of their newsfeed. Newsfeed will no longer be called Newsfeed. This will be called 'feed'. In other words, the Facebook authorities are removing the word 'news' from the word newsfeed. The announcement was made on the official Twitter account of Facebook last Tuesday.
In an e-mail to technology website The Verge, Facebook authorities said it was just a name change. This change is being made to highlight the different types of content that people see as a Facebook feed. As a result of this change, there will be no major change in the use of Facebook app.
Technology website GSM Arena reports that Facebook is one of the most popular social media apps in the world. More than 269 crore people in the world are using the app every month.
The size of Facebook has now become so large that it has been seen to create conflicts with regulators over its various regulations. Recently, Meta, the parent company of Facebook, came under fire for its impact on the mental health of young people. The company is also under pressure from the European Union to manage user information.
